"The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me........"
This thought from Psalm 138:8 speaks volumes to the stage of my life
in which I now find myself. I have so many questions that I feel need to be
answered. Will my dvd presentation be the best that it can be? Will I ever
find that special someone and get married? Will I raise the support that I
need in order to get to the Philippines? It sounds trite but true: God's got it
all worked out- it's all in His capable hands. I worry and stew and claw my
way out of uncertainty, when really I should just wait upon the Lord and
trust that He has my back, that He will make everything beautiful in HIS
timing.
Maybe you, my Friend are going through a season of uncertainty- of plaguing
questions that hammer against your spirit, causing unrest and worry in your
heart. God's Word has been a comfort to me and I trust that these verses will
be a blessing to you, as they have been to me.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out
of them all. - Psalm 34:19.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will
be exalted in the earth. -Psalm 46:10.
Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not
in thy book? -Psalm 56:8.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own under-
standing. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
-Proverbs 3: 5 & 6.
A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
-Proverbs 16:9.
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: - Ecclesiastes 3:11a.
As a gospel song goes, "God's Word changes lives." His Word is quick and powerful
sharper than any two-edged sword. It has the Power to bring comfort, healing, peace,
and is relevant to any situation we may face. And though this is not a saying found in
the Bible, its a quote by Elisabeth Elliot that has made me think:
Waiting on God requires the willlingness to bear uncertainty, to carry within
oneself the unanswered question, lifting the heart to God about it whenever it
intrudes upon one's thoughts.
May I encourage you to wait upon the Lord, continue to serve Him and stay faithful
to Him. Faith is being certain of what we do not see, trusting that He Who sees every
thing will reveal to us His will, if we continue to look to HIM for guidance.
